Potty Traning Day 4-5 & Tips

It seems like I can only post about potty training every other day! I don't know what that's about, other than I'm busy!

Yesterday was a pretty good day. He stayed dry all morning and even went on the potty at the park. After nap time, he was super cranky and had no interest in going, as usual. I don't know what it is about the afternoon, but he loses interest. He did wait until he had his diaper on to do a certain thing, which was kind of frustrating, because he knew he needed to go and was whining and running back and forth to the toilet and actually tried to sit and do it. Oh well, we'll get there.

We have an issue with him pulling the flaps of the diaper away from his hips, so it all pokes out the top. Needless to say, this morning was spent washing sheets that were soaked because of this.

He has done really well today, although he did have 2 accidents, because he got distracted. However, we have a happy child after nap time today, and he successfully went potty and had a dry diaper as well. Yay! He also did go in the potty what he was reluctant to yesterday, so I'm so glad about that!

I probably won't post again about our potty training until Monday. We have a busy day of outside work tomorrow, hopefully before it rains, and then some rest on Sunday. Here are some more tips I've come up with:

7. Timing: Keep track of the times that they usually go to the bathroom. When they're actively going, figure out how long they can go in between. Set your kitchen timer to remind you at a set interval so you don't forget to remind them to go (we get busy!).

8. Nap Time: Put a diaper or Pull Up on while your child is napping. This is a time when they don't necessarily have control and may not wake up in time to make it to the potty. It may take a while for them to learn to hold it a little longer, get out of the bed and go. If they're dry when they wake up, try to make sitting on the potty a priority when they wake up.
