Free Cereal Coupons from MyBlogSpark

While we don't eat alot of sugary cereals around here, we do eat Fiber One, Cheerios, and Chex occasionally. However, I'm impressed at the continued attempt of companies to lower the sugar found in items they produce.

A while back, I posted about General Mills commitment to reducing sugar in kids cereals.

...General Mills announced a commitment to further reduce sugar in cereals advertised to kids under 12 to single digit grams of sugar per serving. The company has already been reducing sugar in cereals while increasing key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain.

As part of this news, they offered a $1/1 box of cereal coupon, which may or may not still be available here. For my participation in this offer, I was awarded 4 Free product coupons, valued up to $6 (I believe)!

Thank you General Mills and MyBlogSpark for this great offer and your commitment to reducing sugar in products targeted to our children!

End Of Year Donations

If you are trying to get some last minute tax return credits, make sure you do your charitable donating, tithing, and physical donating by Thursday!

I have been trying to get rid of a lot of excess things in our house. I have been donating clothes, appliances, food we won't ever use, and also my CVS extras that I don't use, to my local Faith Rescue Mission. You drop it off and they give you a ticket to have proof for your tax return and you put in the value of the items. Of course, if you do it in an unreasonable amount, you might get questioned, so please be honest in the value of your items!

You really don't know how much 'stuff' you have until you go through and weed things out. Donating is a great way to not only help others, but get credit for it on your end too.

I won the Old Navy coupon!

I was so excited Saturday morning! I was up early to run to Target with my sister to score some after Christmas deals. I checked the blog that was giving away the coupon, before I went to bed, but it didn't show any winners yet. When I got up, I remembered I should check my email. There in my inbox was my Old Navy $50/$100 coupon!!! I was so thrilled.

Old Navy was pretty well picked over, especially the men's section. I did get my DH 2 pairs of dress pants, 2 t-shirts, a long sleeve tee type shirt (the only long sleeve like it for men!), a dress for myself, a pair of jeans, a blouse and a hoodie. I probably could have done better, but we were on a time crunch and I was not finding alot of things I liked in my size, the disadvantage of the day after Christmas!

Overall, I spent $67 after tax and saved $140!!!!!

Thank you Engineer A Debt Free Life for the giveaway!

New Reward Site

I just came across a new reward website called SuperPoints. You visit websites, complete surveys, sign friends up, search the Internet, etc. It is very similar to MyPoints. They have gift cards, electronics, baby items, household items and much more to claim your points for.

If interested, go here to sign up, and don't forget to refer your friends!

Stonyfield Coupons

If you use lots of Stonyfield yogurt products, then here is a great place for coupons. They are .50, so they can be doubled at Publix! My favorite is the .50/2 Yo Baby meals. Ian loves the sweet potato and apple flavor.

You do have to register. After you do, at the top center, there is a coupons/offers link. You can print once a month.

**BE AWARE, Chrome and Safari are not supported browsers and you will lose your chance to print if you try. I'd stick with IE to print these! I just learned the hard way and lost the coupons I needed to use today.

Pampers Reward Codes

If you've been reading for a while, you know I am part of the Huggies reward program. I am also part of the Pampers program, but haven't been buying many Pampers diapers lately, as Huggies seem to have better coupons and sales at CVS/Wags/RA.

Anyway, I came across a site where I found some codes. If you haven't signed up, you can do so here. I'm close to being able to get a free 20 page 8x8 photo book from Shutterfly!

Here are the codes:

GRATUIT89102009 - 10
JOINTHEFUNGTG09 - 10
JUSTBECAUSE2009 - 10
STARTEARNINGNOW - 10
XKCMYXFVD96VXVK - 30
WELCOME2VILLAGE - 10

GROWWITHVILLAGE - 10

Thanks, MommySavesBig!

Super Center vs. Grocery Store

If you're not convinced you can save money by shopping at Publix vs. Walmart, you need to read this post at Southern Savers. It is very informative and shows you the difference in savings at the two.

If you don't care about stocking up, I'd say Walmart has the lowest prices, except for when they are B1G1 at Publix or elsewhere. If you are stocking up and doing your 6 week rotation, Publix is definitely the way to go!

I think the biggest thing to know is what the lowest price you can get for your item is and then stock up until it is on sale again (usually a 6 week rotation). That's why I like Jenny's Extreme Couponing information.

I have a 2 year old!

I am officially the mother of a two year old! Ian turned two on Wednesday. He was pretty oblivious to the occasion, but we told him anyway. His big party was last Saturday, which was a success. All the stressing and preparation and in a blink, it's all over. Everyone seemed to have a good time. We used the Nemo theme, which he absolutely loved. I made his cake and had some assistance in decorating. Thankfully, he didn't get too many things. His first birthday was crazy with all the toys he got. Now, it's time to think about packing up all those little toys for these bigger boy toys!

I can't wait to see what this next year brings. I'm sure he'll be talking constantly soon, every day his vocalization is increasing. It's kind of funny to hear how their talking voice is. It's also amazing to realize how much they learn each day.

Here are just a few shots of the day. He wasn't looking in most of what we took.

He didn't like everyone singing Happy Birthday. That's why he's not smiling!

My Blog Spark and Yoplait Kids is giving me the opportunity to offer my readers 2 Yoplait Less Sugar, More Fun prize packs!

I was mailed a prize pack and coupon to try the yogurt. I only got it today, but plan on definitely trying it. We love yogurt in our family. I will review it separate from this giveaway, probably later in the week.

Are you searching for a snack for the kids that tastes good and is good for them? Yoplait Kids yogurt is the perfect solution with 25% less sugar than the leading kids’ yogurt. With its thick and creamy texture that will hug your little one’s spoon, you won’t have to worry about a sticky mess to clean up afterwards. It also contains no artificial sweeteners or flavors, so you can feel good about serving it to your kids.
Included in the pack:
Perfect for accompanying this fun afternoon snack, the Yoplait Less Sugar, More Fun prize pack includes coupon for a Yoplait Kids yogurt, a travel cooler (to take your yogurt on-the-go), a fun spoon that changes colors in warm water, a reusable place mat with games to keep the kids happy while snacking, and a fuzzy tangle puzzle for some after-snack fun.

CVS Run

I ran to CVS today to take advantage of the freebies. There were quite alot of bows and labels left. If you haven't gone, you need to! Free Christmas supplies are great!

I followed Jenny's scenarios a little and added in my own. It went pretty smooth. I just get out of the way if people start lining up behind me. My goal was as little OOP as possible, and I definitely accomplished that! I used my rain checks since they had enough stock for what I needed. I could've done a little better on the Glad if I would've had another free refill coupon.

If you're a cereal lover like I am, there is good news this week! General Mills is jumping on the band wagon to further reduce sugar in kids cereals. Not only are they reducing sugar, but they are adding more essential nutrients as well.

I am a big believer that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I think it is the biggest factor in getting kids geared up for their day at school or play. Of course nutrients and sugar in the food they eat is a big factor in whether the energy they receive lasts through lunch or not.

In honor of this new change, General Mills is offering a $1 here or here off four varieties of cereal.

For more information on the benefits of cereal and breakfast, go here.

Thanks to MyBlogSpark and General Mills for these offers!

Birthday Supplies

I have been looking for birthday supplies for Ian's party and have come across several websites that carry some awesome stuff. Some of them aren't as cheap as others, but I thought I would share the sites that I liked with you, in case you too are planning a party. I was kind of lucky because the Nemo theme is being discontinued, so I got the items on sale.

For cash back, you must sign up with Shop at Home or Ebates, then search for the party site you want and click through their link, in order to get your credit.

Birthday in a Box - 5% Cash back with Shop at Home

Oriental Trading - 3% Cash Back with Ebates, plus free shipping offers. 6% cash back through Shop at Home. Various coupon codes here including 10/20 and free shipping. Directly on the site, they have 10% off and free shipping over $59 through Dec. 7 with code FSDEC59.

Birthday Direct - 1 Day shipping in AL. Up to 3 days for everywhere else. Free shipping on $65+. I used this one for Ian's stuff because they had everything I needed in one place and weren't out of the discontinuing items. Plus, they are in AL, so I ordered last night, it shipped today and will be here Monday.

Birthday Express - Same day shipping.

Party City - Has some great prices, offers free shipping and good discounts on holiday ware.

Sunday's Inserts

There are two inserts this coming weekend. Make sure to get the largest paper in your area.

Speaking of that, I saw the Birmingham News in another location. Not only do Booksamillion and the Taylor Rd BP station carry them, Publix on Atlanta Hwy near Dalraida has them. They actually had some from last weekend yesterday. However, they do not discount them because they get full reimbursement. Just another location to add to your list!

To preview the ads for Sunday the 6th, go here. Thanks Southern Savers for putting this together for us, every week!

Busy Busy

This week has been a busy week. I know it will only get busier as Christmas gets closer. Monday was 'one of those days'. Tuesday we were away from home all day. Yesterday, we stayed around the house, but didn't do much. Today, we had playgroup and then a napless afternoon, with some errands to follow the failed nap attempt.

Ian's birthday is coming up, so I'm trying to figure out party stuff. I found out today that Party City is discontinuing the Finding Nemo line, which of course is his theme, so I'm going to have to buy favors online tonight so they'll be here by next weekend! That kind of threw me for a loop. Party planning is not easy. I know he's only going to be 2, but we have a lot of family coming. With figuring food out and cakes, gifts, etc, I'm just focused on that most of the time.

I'm not even going to go to CVS this week. Just don't have the enthusiasm to do it. I might go to Rite Aid since it will be on the way of my errands tomorrow. We'll see. I don't plan to put a lot of effort into anything! I've got too much other stuff to do!
