A reputable company, that I have worked with twice now is looking for mother's with the following requirements to participate in paid diaper/training pant studies.

You must call and express your interest. They return your message if you leave one with the name Arquest on caller ID...so you know it is not a solicit. You participate and they send you diapers specified for a period of time. Once you fulfill the requirements and surveys that are completed on paper, but turned in via phone conversation, you receive a $10 check in the mail 3-4 weeks later.

I highly recommend this. They are friendly and you can count on the check being delivered! I actually did one and they called me back to do the second one. Who wouldn't want free diapers for a month and $10???!!!

In a Coupon Rut!

We just got back from vacation and I have very little desire to shop and seek out great bargains. I did go to Walgreens yesterday to buy 2 Rembrandt items to use an expiring RR and get a $5 RR. I have done my grocery shopping yesterday and today and not really been too into getting the best deals...just trying to get it done! I have
used some coupons, but not as strategically. It just isn't on my priority/desire list right now. I have a ton of coupons to cut out and sort and I'm just not in the mood. I guess maybe I was burnt out and didn't realize it til I went away and had no cares about it. It's not exactly a bad thing because sometimes you get so caught up in it, you become obsessed with getting the best deals or getting the papers and making your lists. It isn't healthy at that point. It just takes you away from what really should be your priority...God, family, home, etc. So, if you are starting to feel overwhelmed or just like you can't focus on what really matters, I suggest taking a break. Use what you have as far as supplies and use coupons that you have in your binder, but take a break from the whirlwind that couponing can be! I am actually enjoying the break! Although, I don't look forward to what I will have to organize when I feel like jumping back in!

I will keep blogging here and I'm sure I'll be back into it next week for CVS, etc!

Well, we are finally on our way home from vacation. We have had a wonderful time, but are ready to be home in our own beds. We decided to split the trip home up because traveling for up to 15 hours with a 19 month old is no fun and not very easy going.

We booked a stay at a Courtyard by Marriott through their website....no booking fees compared to Travelocity or Hotels.com. In the process, I discovered that select hotels, *July 2 thru September 13, are offering a $20 Visa gift card for a *Friday or Saturday night stay. Upon check in, they give you a slip with a unique code that you use on a specific site to claim it. You have one month after your stay to claim and it arrives in 4-6 weeks to your house. One offer per stay.

I highly recommend this chain. We have had very good success with them. Comfortable beds, corteous service, etc. There are also other deals available for other Marriott Chain hotels. Check the website for details and to search for locations.

Cheap Mascara at Walgreens

I went to Walgreens the other day and was browsing their cosmetics. I found Loreal Lash Architect Mascara on clearance. The regular brushes were 7.XX, the curved ones were 2.xx. I had $1 off coupons for mascara. I got 2 mascaras for maybe 3.xx! I haven't tried them before, but they are so cheap, it's no big deal if I don't like them.

Check your store out! Even if you don't have the coupons, the price is worth it!

Kraft and Publix Promo and All You Grocery Challenge

When you buy 4 participating Kraft products at Publix from 7/13 to 8/9, you can submit your Publix receipts for a $10 rebate. The purchase total of your receipts must be $50. It does not have to be all in one trip. The 4 items do not have to be in the same trip either. You can do the deal up to 3 times. However, it seems as though the Kraft sales will be diminishing because of this promo. Keep your eyes out. Maybe there are some Advantage Buys or something that will help out. If you see coupons for the products listed, SAVE THEM or PRINT THEM right away!!

I know I can spend $150 easily at Publix and I can incorporate the 12 items in to get this $30 back!

Recipe of the Week

I am going to start listing a recipe each week that I like. Right now, I will focus on light and summery dishes.

This recipe was something we had for a Father's Day cookout. It was fantastic and most everyone liked it. If there is something you don't like, you don't have to put it in. This recipe is super light and tasty! It is fairly healthy too.

Light and Fresh Potato Salad - from Myrecipes.com

Yield

12 servings (serving size: 3/4 cup)

Ingredients

• Dressing:
• 1/4 cup seasoned rice vinegar
• 2 tablespoons canola oil
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
• 
  Salad:
• 5 cups cubed red potato (about 2 pounds)
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup chopped peeled cucumber
• 3/4 cup sliced grape or cherry tomatoes
• 3/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
• 1/2 cup chopped orange bell pepper
• 1/4 cup chopped green onions
• 1 (2 1/4-ounce) can sliced ripe olives, drained

Preparation

1. To prepare dressing, combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; stir with a whisk.

2. To prepare salad, place potato and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a medium saucepan. Cover with water to 2 inches above potato; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 8 minutes or until tender; drain.

3. Add potato to dressing in bowl, tossing gently to coat; let stand 15 minutes. Stir in cucumber and remaining ingredients; toss well. Cover and chill.

I recently went to Books-A-Million and got an advertisement at the bottom of my receipt. With the way the weather has been lately (HOT!), if you have no pool or anything fun and exciting to do, try this out. It will get you out of the house, but you'll be in a cool environment!

Fresh Market Chicken on Sale

Starting tomorrow, boneless skinless chicken breasts will be 2.99 lb. This is a great deal, because it is 2 breasts together (app 12-14 oz) and you can cut each in 1/2 and still have good sized portions. I always buy about 6 and halve them all which gives me 24 portions. I spend about 13 bucks.

To store, I lay parchment/wax paper on a baking sheet and lay them individually. I put them in the freezer until frozen then transfer to Ziploc bags.
