Boiron Homeopathic Products
About two weeks ago, The Thrifty Mama posted about mom blogger's getting the opportunity to try 3 free full size Boiron Homeopathic Products. Read about that here. I, of course, prefer using homeopathy to traditional medicine. Although a medical practitioner myself, I believe that doctors are constantly over prescribing medications that are harmful to our bodies, when there is most likely a more natural alternative. I try to use homeopathic routes as often as I can.
Being a blogging mom, I decided to get this offer. I received my products last week. I was extremely shocked at how fast they got here. The box mentioned the flu and I thought it was something from another company trying to push information on the flu vaccines, etc. Once I read the box a little more, I was pleasantly surprised to find my free Boiron samples.
In this kit came:
Boiron Chestal Honey Homeopathic Cough Syrup
Boiron Cold Calm Pellets
Boiron Oscillococcinum Flu Tablets
All products are homeopathic and do not have artificial colors or high fructose corn syrup.
I used the cold pellets for Ian last night, as he has been having a hard time sleeping this week. We have both been sick from a cold and, at night, he has been showing signs of nasal drainage. He can't tell me what is wrong, but I can pick up on his cues. I feel completely comfortable giving him these products because they are not full of sugars and I just don't have to worry about if what I'm giving him will harm him in some way.
You can learn more about Boiron cold and flu products here. Keep up with their blog for homeopathic news and special offers.
If you are a mom blogger and want to try this product, you can go here and request your free samples.
**UPDATE: I forgot to mention that these did come with 2 $1.50 coupons.

New Karen Kingsbury Book Out

If you don't know me, you wouldn't know that I love Christian fiction books. I have always liked reading and thankfully, wholesome books. Karen Kingsbury is one of my favorite authors and she has just come out with a new book, Shades of Blue.
Her books tend to deal with love, loss and faith. I highly recommend her if you like reading wholesome books that have a Biblical tie to them. She has many fiction books, some regarding 9/11 and others just dealing with faith and family, but always applicable to real life.
If you don't like the cost of books, but like to read, I recommend trying Paperback Swap. You post books you have to trade for books others have. All you pay is shipping (media - $2-$3). Sign up for that here.
$2 Aveeno Coupon

I haven't gotten an Aveeno coupon in a long time, becuase I printed the max. Well, I just got the newsletter and it had a $2 coupon for the Positively Radiant line! I really like this line of products and these coupons are good for any sales that might be coming up. You can print it here. Make sure to hit the back button and refresh. I actually printed out more than 2!

Diaper Opinion
The other night, I had a conversation with another mom about diapers. We were really talking about the cost of diapers and how much I try to pay per diaper. Of course in the discussion, the brands came up and I shared what diapers I like.
I was always of the opinion that I would use Pampers for diapers. Having worked at a daycare, I got to see the quality of a broad range of brand and off brand diapers. Opinions form very quickly when you're changing 2 year old diapers 4-5 times a day!
There is a history of an allergy to Huggies diapers in my family. My mom wasn't sure which one of the four of us it was. When Ian was born, I used Pampers for probably the first year and a half, because of the potential allergy. When I started learning about CVS and the cost per diaper and the fact that the price at Sam's doesn't necessarily give you the best deal, I decided to try Huggies. We had no issue with allergies to the Huggies brand, so I have since changed to mostly Huggies since they seem to be on sale more at CVS and I always have way more coupons for Huggies vs. Pampers.
A few weeks ago Rite Aid had the 3/$33 diaper deal with $10 rebate. I cashed in on this great deal because I had the $3 Huggies Pure and Natural Coupons, plus the video values coupon and a $5/$25. Basically, after rebate, I got 3 packs of diapers for a little less than 1 pack on sale ($7.99 or so). I bought the Huggies Snug and Dry and the Pure and Natural.
Let me tell you, even though they are the same brand, there is a world of difference! I absolutely love the Pure and Natural diapers. They are super soft, seem to breathe better, are stretchy and very comfortable (it seems). To read more on that review go here. I usually by the Little Movers because they work well for my toddler.
Today, the dreaded day came when I ran out of those wonderful Pure and Natural diapers. I decided to keep the one Pampers pack I have left in the closet and pulled out the Snug and Dry. Let me tell you, they are nothing like the other varieties of Huggies. They seem so narrow and there is not much flexibility on the waist band. They actually don't seem to wrap around Ian as well as the other varieties do. We have only used 3 today, but they have not been holding things in like they should. I'm fairly disappointed in these diapers. Now I have to work my way through the pack and find some of those Pure and Natural at Rite Aid for $5.99 this week, before they go off sale. I'm kind of eager to do that anyway, because Rite Aid is doing a buy 5 get the 6th pack free promotion with the rebate program.
The moral of this story is to stick with the diapers that you know and love. You can always stock up and buy them on sale when you see them. I think the bigger point is to stock up more than you think you should because you run out of what you like faster!

Huggies Reward Catalog

If you haven't signed up for Huggies Enjoy the Ride Rewards program, you should! Now, not only can you play instant win games and use your points for sweepstakes, but if you save up enough, you can earn items out of their catalog. They are getting closer to the Pampers reward site, which is exciting, because I no longer buy Pampers because they don't seem to be on sale as much anymore, plus Huggies gives better coupons. I haven't won anything lately, but have won a gas card and movie ticket in the past.

Opinion Outpost Surveys
I have posted before about Opinion Outpost. They send surveys in your email and you earn points to redeem for cash or Amazon Gift Cards (a new feature). I highly recommend this site. I get surveys frequently from them. I don't qualify for all, but usually I qualify for the higher earning ones. Now that they offer the Amazon option, it makes it even better.
You get points for each survey you complete. Each point is worth .10 and you can cash in at 50 points or $5 (could be one or two surveys). I also have to say that I requested a check from them on the 7th and received it today! I couldn't be happier with this company. If you are interested in signing up, join Opinion Outpost.
This is a great way to make some extra cash for your CVS habit or just extra cash in general! :-)

CVS Run $2.84 OOP w/ 13.98 ECB Back
I had a plan going into CVS today, but it was foiled when I realized I didn't have the right coupon for the Gillette shaving cream to do that deal. I browsed around, because I had a stack of rain checks and cashed in on those deals from back to school and before that I couldn't get. I also decided against the free bag, because all they had left were skeletons....not a fan at all.

Zyrtec Sample

I know with the weather change, many have been complaining of sinus and allergy issues. If you're not sure which medicine is for you, what better way to try it than a sample? That way you don't have to pay for something that won't work!
Go here to get a Zyrtec sample.
If you already use Zyrtec, Jenny shows you a deal here for Rite Aid this week. It applies towards the Gift of Savings Promotion, which you can read more about here.
Free Stationary Samples
If you are thinking about making holiday cards or need invitations, you can get 4 free samples of your choosing here. I'm not sure if they are blank (probably not), but at least it gives you an idea of what you might be receiving. They do have some discount offers.

Target Reusable Bag Credit
Ariel mentioned that a rumor was going around about Target paying you to use reusable bags. They do have to be Target bags, but they aren't that expensive and you can probably work them into a scenario with a gift card or something to get them cheaper.
Of course you will want to check with your local store before buying the bags, just so you don't find out that they won't do the credit! It's too bad they won't take Publix bags, because I get lots of those for free with coupons, and have even gotten some through the mail for free.
Read about it here and here.
Thanks, Ariel!

Huggies Pure and Natural Sample

The other week when Rite AId had the 3/$33 Huggies diapers and get $10 SCR, I cashed in. I had the 5/25 coupon, 2/$3 and 1/$2, plus the $2 video values coupon. Total, after rebate, would be like $8 for 3 packs of diapers! Dirt cheap!
One of the things I did was try the Pure and Natural since CVS and Walgreens do not carry them. Let me tell you, they are great! They are made of organic cotton, fragrance free, hypoallergenic and have aloe and vitamin E. They seem to breathe better than regular diapers too, so the little one isn't so hot from wearing a diaper all day.
Get your sample here. They only have Newborn and size 1, but I don't care. Eventually, I'll use it!
While you're signing up for samples, get a sample of Chai Tea here.
