Last Day to Print Coupons
Today is the last day of the month, that means tomorrow Coupons.com, Redplum.com and Smartsource.com will refresh their coupons. If there is ANYTHING that you are interested in printing from those sites, you better do it today! There is a chance it will roll over to next month, but better do it anyway! Plus, it won't hurt to print some out now and then check later for more if you need them.

You Data
You Data is a website that pays you to view ads for companies. Basically, you fill out as little or as much of a profile as you want. You get relevant ads based on your profile. They deposit money you earn each Friday into your Paypal. It isn't a great money maker, but every little bit counts. I only got .30 this week. You should get alot when you first sign up, but the amount of people they are getting to sign up is greater than the ads, so you may not get that many after you sign up.
They have a referral program where you get $1 for every person you get to sign up, plus you get .01 for every ad they click. So, it pays to spread the word too!

Marriage is Sacred
I was recently referred to a sermon series by Ravi Zacharias regarding marriage, entitled, "I, Isaac, take you Rebekah", which is geared towards young people, but has important aspects for adults and already married couples. The sermon is based on Scripture in Genesis 24. You can listen to the series here. I find it interesting the timing of me listening to this program, especially in light of all the drama of Jon & Kate. I find this message to be a reminder of how God created marriage and how we are to maintain the sacredness and holiness of that relationship.
In this day and age, with all the media hype and secularism of society, it is hard to not get pulled into all the drama. As Christians, we must be careful of what we see and hear and maintain purity! We must rely on the Holy Spirit and the Word constantly, to maintain the Biblical foundation God has set for our marriages. We must get back into the Word to be reminded of the purpose God has created marriage for.
From the beginning of time, God created man and woman to be partners. Man was alone and God saw that it was not good for him to be alone. So, He created woman to be a lifelong companion to man. Genesis 2:8-25.
Marriage is not easy. Two people with unique perspectives are required to mesh together. It requires a constant effort towards teamwork and unity as well as kindness to one another, regardless of circumstances (which is hard!). Having been married 7 years, myself, we still have to work together on a daily basis.
The only way we can remain committed to one another is by first having a committed relationship to God. We must maintain our individual quiet times of prayer and reading His Word. Through this relationship, the Holy Spirit can guide us and work in our hearts and minds. This foundation must be the basis for marriage or, as the house that was built on sand, it will collapse.
If you are young and looking for a partner, I encourage you to look for kindness in that person. This is a portrayal of the future. I encourage you to be in prayer for the one God has for you. Pray that the person has a strong Biblical foundation and commitment to God. This is important for the basis of your marriage. I also encourage you to remain pure. It is very hard these days, but you must think on things that are righteous and pure. Philippians 4:8. Eliminate the things that may cause you to stumble. Pray that the Holy Spirit will convict you of things that should not be in your life. Your body is a temple for God and he cannot inhabit that temple if there is sin there. Lastly, never put yourself in a position where you can fall. Put yourself around others so that you can remain holy and pure.
If you are married, I encourage you to be in the Word constantly for direction and strength. Without that relationship with God, you cannot make it on your own to fulfill His desire for marriage or your life.
Remember the holiness of marriage and do not take it lightly. It is a bond that is supposed to last a lifetime.

Getting Started at CVS
If you are wanting to start shopping at CVS, Keeping the Kingdom First hosts a $5 challenge every week. The purpose is to get the most out of $5 as you can and also get ECB to roll for the next week's purchases. I love that her blog is to be a good steward of the money God has entrusted us with. In the beginning, I used several of her examples to help me out. I still check out these deals if I am having a hard time figuring my own out.
Here is the challenge for 6/21.

Walgreens Run

I usually do not shop Walgreens, because I find their reward system a hassle. Plus, the managers tend to not work with you about getting what you want as much as CVS, Publix, etc.
The picture shows what I got. Here is the breakdown:
1 Organix Shampoo @ 6.99 with TRY ME FREE sticker
1 Organix Conditioner @ 0.00 (was B1G1)
= 7.55 on gift card
= 0.00 after rebate
1 Aquafresh Advance
2 J/J Baby powder 1.5 oz @ 2/$2
- $1 Aquafresh MQ
- 2/$1 J/J MQ
= 1.40 OOP
Got 4 Register Rewards back, plus a coupon
I had 2 Aquafresh that I purchased, but I forgot that when you buy 2 of the same items that are supposed to print out Register Rewards, only one will print. Therefore, I returned it. I could 'roll the deal', but Walgreens is difficult, because you cannot use a previous RR towards an item of the same manufcaturer, or it will not print another RR. You can use a RR from a different manufacturer and still get the RR though. For more information on shopping Walgreens go here and here. Here is a great link for the basics of couponing.
I also had an item that was on clearance for $3. I knew I had a coupon for it, but the coupon was $5. The manager came over and said he could not do anything about it. I left the item off. HOWEVER, when I got to the car, I realized I could have whipped out my WALGREENS COUPON POLICY...which clearly stated that if the value of the item is less than the value of the coupon, the price value of the item would be adjusted up to the coupon value minus tax. ALWAYS HAVE YOUR COUPON POLICY HANDY!
Here is a link to the coupon policy for Walgreens.
More Kashi Bar Coupons
Vocalpoint is another website where you can get exclusive information about new products, as well as coupons, samples and other fun things. They are a division of Proctor and Gamble. I recently got a coupon for Free Kashi waffles and several other $1.50 off waffles. Right now they are doing a lot of Kashi opinions/surveys. Kashi is handing out more coupons! Here is another $1.50 off Kashi bars coupon.

Free Movie Rental
If you don't have a movie subscription service, or if you do and don't have any at the moment, here is a way to get a free rental. Have you seen the Redbox machine in Walmart or Mc Donald's? It is a big red box sometimes near the entrance coke machines where you can rent movies for $1. Frequently, codes are given out for you to get a free night. If you don't return it on time, you will be charged that fee. Go online to reserve yours now!

Coupon Doubles
It is not always necessary to have a high value coupon. Stores like Publix and Winn-Dixie will double coupons....some stores triple...like Kmart. I know Publix's rule is double up to .50. If you shop Winn-Dixie, you should ask what the doubling policy is. Some coupons clearly state DO NOT DOUBLE on the top near the expiration. These are not allowed to be doubled and would be unethical to do so yourself, or let them do so. Those things are what give couponers a bad rap.
This doubling may give you more incentive to buy at grocery stores rather than Walmart. I know I can get a dozen of the Eggland's Best eggs cheaper at Publix than I can at Walmart, because Publix doubles the coupon to .70.
If you have a coupon that is more than the value of the item you are purchasing due to a sale, make sure you are buying other items. Most stores will not pay you cash for an overage, but the computer will let it slide if you have other items to which it can count 'off'. For instance, the Schick razors B1G1 at Publix this week for 5.XX. They each rang up at 1/2 of that price and I had (2) $3 coupons. I had several other items, so I used then both no problem and the leftover paid for the tax on the items pretty much.

Upromise
Have you heard of Upromise? It is a college savings site. They are linked with Sallie Mae, if you have a loan already. The point of it is to use your every day purchasing to help save money for college. Now, it isn't going to be LOADS of cash in your account, and it isn't on every item you buy. There is a list of items that qualify, which you can check out here. It costs nothing to sign up. Check it out for more details.
The really cool thing about it is, you link your CVS, Winn-Dixie, Publix (ask for it at checkout) and other cards to the account and it automatically credits your account the amount you earn (if you remember to use it...I always forget about Publix). Also, they post e coupons so that if you buy a particular item at these stores, you get that amount credited to your account. It has no affect on what coupons you can physically use, i.e. store or manufacturer coupons. Here is an example. 2 weeks ago they had get 1.50 on Huggies. They are on sale 8.99 this week, so you could use a $1.50 Huggies manufacturer coupon and pay 7.49, but also get 1.50 in your Upromise account to save for college or help pay down your loan.

Trading for Coupons
If you haven't got a stash of coupons, but happened to get a few weeks worth of inserts, I recommend trading for some that you want. I am sure that you don't use every coupon out of the inserts! Couponmom is excellent for doing this. Yes, you have to pay to mail, but it is worth it for the savings you will get from the coupons you want. Right now, everyone is updating their trade lists, so head on over and check it out! If you have any questions, ask!!

CVS Coupon Email
If you have signed up to get emails from CVS, check your inbox. I just received a $4/$20 purchase good thru Sunday. This means that the last day you can use it is Sunday! If you haven't done any shopping this week, you can go late Saturday afternoon (say after 4) and get this week's deals and next week's deals early. A good way to get your total to $20 if you didn't need that much.

Free Ebay listings

If you haven't noticed, and I didn't exactly know what was going on until now, Ebay is letting you list 5 items every 30 days for NO insertion cost. Have anything around that you have been wanting to sell? New to Ebay? This is a great way to get the hang of Ebay or try to sell some things without having to pay, just in case it doesn't sell. Yesterday, I listed 6 items, 5 of which were free, not knowing about this deal. Thanks to Money Saving Mom for enlightening us all on the deal. More can be read here.
Old Navy Update

UPDATE: KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE SITE TONIGHT...I'VE HEARD RUMORS...
Old Navy has their coupon site Old Navy Weekly, where you can find awesome coupons. According to The Thrifty Mama, they have caught on that we know they will update these when they expire. So, to make it MORE difficult, they are updating at a random time and not necessarily when this weeks coupons have expired. I will post when it goes live, but I suggest keeping the page bookmarked so you get can to it quickly and keep checking it occasionally!!
I really would love the 75/100. I have used several in the last couple weeks, but wouldn't mind a great deal like that!
CVS trip & Money Maker Update

Well, I am one happy lady! I found and posted the money maker deal at CVS here. I went this am, after sweating profusely at a playground, to try the deal out.
I started looking around towards the back by the books, then the pharmacy, etc. and was getting discouraged that I would not find the lens clothes. Well, as I was going up front to look near the register, there was a sunglasses display at the end of the seasonal section. Lo and behold at the bottom of the spinner were the cases and cloths mentioned. Before I got all my other stuff, I took these to the register. My friendly manager, that loves watching me get such good deals, checked me out after I told her I was going to try it first. She asked what it was supposed to do and she replied 'No way!'. Well, we rang it up and out popped a store coupon and my 10 ECB!!! WOOOHOOO!! So, if you haven't, you should go do this deal. Spend 2.XX and get 10 back! Then roll it into another deal you see this week that will produce more ECB to use next week.
Here is how it played out:
Started with 10 ECB from previous weeks.
Transaction 1:
2 lens cleaning cloths @ .99 ea - these worked because of the sunglasses deal in the ad

MONEY MAKER ALERT!!!

Jenny at Southern Savers discovered that CVS has a hidden deal right now. I am telling you to go ASAP and do this! If you haven't read this on another blog....
Look for Style Science Lens Cleansing Cloths at your CVS, buy 2 at $0.99 each and they should produce a $10 ECB! That's an $8 profit! If you're in need of a few ECB, like I am, this might just be the thing! Maybe now I can go shopping.
People are finding these near the sunglasses or reading glasses at the pharmacy.
Car Cleaning Cloths for .99 cents are also working. Style Science Glass Cases at $1.99 are working too.
It isn't guaranteed that it will print, but there are numerous people confirming the deal. The limit is 1 per card.
I have come across 2 or 3 of these MM deals, so take advantage!
Upcoming Coupon Inserts 6/21
Here is the list of coupons expected in this coming Sunday's paper. I suggest buying two if you are trying to work up a stash. Walmart is the cheapest at .99 ea. (Thanks to Southern Savers for compiling the list in easy to read format). Our area varies greatly, but this gives you an idea.

Publix 6/17-6/23
I really don't see anything great this week. There are only a few things I see that would be good for me. Plus, I've already done my shopping.
Alexia Potatoes or Onion Rings $2.79 ea
Bic Disposable Razors 3 to 8 ct at $5.49
-$2 off Bic Disposables SS 6/07
-$2 off Bic Soleil 3 pk SS 6/07 (makes it .74¢ ea)
-$3 off Bic Soleil Bella from BzzAgent kit (makes it -.51) - I have this and should be able to do it if I am purchasing other items so the store doesn't actually owe me, it just gets taken off the total.
Right Guard Xtreme at $3.99
-$1 off any Right Guard Deodorant SS 4/19 (makes it .49¢ ea)
-$1/2 Right Guard SS 5/17
Check out the full listing. Also check out the Health and Beauty and Food Advantage buys for other savings not listed in the ad. Advantage Buys are sale items for a set amount of time during the month. Combine them when the items are B1G1 for a better deal.

Diapers and Baby Supplies

Have you ever ordered or thought about ordering diapers online? I have bought them online before and it was so much more convenient than shopping and price comparing in store.
Go sign up for Mypoints first. You might need me to send you a link or give you my email. Let me know.
Right now, Diapers.com is having their first ever semi-annual sale. If you order $49 or more, you get free 1-2 day shipping. Get $5 off your first order of Huggies or formula on the site using code MYPOINTS5. Get up to 15% off on car seats and feeding accessories.
Also, when you go through the Mypoints website, you can get 5 points for every dollar spent up to 124.99 and it doubles to 10 points per dollar above that.
Happy shopping!
BzzAgent

Have you signed up for MyPoints yet? If so, here is another way to earn more points.
BzzAgent is a program dedicated to word of mouth marketing. They let you get the chance to try free product samples and send you samples or coupons for your friends to try. All you have to do is write a review of your conversation (in any form) regarding these products. You have to do 2 or 3 of these per product sample. When you submit your review, depending on how well it was, you get MyPoints as a reward. I usually get 50 points for each review. I have gotten to try the John Freida Root Awakening line (got a full sample of shampoo and conditioner, small detangler sample and 5 sample packets as well as coupons) and the Bic Soleil Bella razors (got a 3pk of razors and stack of $3 off coupons - extremely high value).
The only drawback is before you can begin getting products to sample, you have to go into their site and create your profile with mini surveys - which earn MyPoints. You also have to visit the "Frogpond" where many websites are listed. You click on the website you want to view and visit it, then you return to BzzAgent to review the site and take a poll. You have to complete 3 polls a month. You also have to add content to BzzScapes...which are products people upload and review. You just add a picture or website link regarding the product. You have to do 10 of those a month.
If you do both those things, you earn two steps up towards getting early invites for product campaigns.
It sounds confusing, but is interesting. You basically get on throughout the month or all in one go and you are done.
Sign up here or check it out for more info.
All You Magazine

I don't know if you've ever seen this in Walmart or not. This magazine is chock full of information as well as high value coupons. There is usually at least $70 worth of coupons each month. You can buy it per issue at Walmart. If you have never checked it out, it is worth it. I have a subscription that I got for a really good price.
Currently, Money Saving Mom is hosting a giveaway for 10 subscriptions. Go leave a comment and you might win a year subscription! What better way to try it out....FREE! :-)
If you don't win and would be interested in a 2 year subscription, The Thrifty Mama has a deal with a Southern Living consultant where you can get 2 years for 17.49 with free shipping and no tax. It is an awesome deal! These issues are 2.44 at Walmart...so it is worth the subscription! Go here for more information.

Waiting for CVS
Well, I went out yesterday to do a CVS run. I had 9 ECB in pocket, but was supposed to have 10 ECB on my card to be printed for a survey I completed by being a member of the CVS Advisor Panel. Well, I got in, did my shopping and got to check out, only to find that the 10 ECB aren't there yet!! SO AGGRIVATING! I had emailed the company, last Monday or Tuesday, that does the surveys about this and they said it was supposed to go active Thursday. Well, obviously not. I am a little ticked with them right now, but hopefully it gets resolved soon. I would really hate to go do my run and the products not be in stock! That is why I like to do it early in the week.
Also, a little tidbit for you...it seems as though Sunday and Monday are the best days to do your shopping. Want to know why? I have found that when I shop these days, CVS store coupons for $$ off a certain item get printed in abundance! Yesterday, I bought a clearance toothbrush for .50, trying to get that 10 ECB to print, and I got 4 coupons! Some of them I will not use, but 2 of them I will! This is also how the price checker scanner works...if you can find one in your store. You just scan your card, up to 3 times a day I think, and it prints out store coupons for you. I have only seen 1 store locally with this though. If you find one (it will be a big red machine, or maybe a grey/blue machine on the wall similar to Target and Walmart) let me know!

Bath and Body Works

Bath and Body's Semi Annual sale is going on now. If you haven't been, you should check them out. These are good prices.
Currently, their Signature Creamy Body Wash, select Wall Flowers, Signature Foam Bursts, and select Scent Ports are $4. Also, products for men are B1G1 through Sunday.

Coupons
If you're not stocked up with any coupons and haven't started getting the paper yet, you could invest a little money to stock up on ones you know you will use. I've gone through this site several times and usually get my order within 2 days of it shipping. It is secure and trustworthy. Even if you have to buy some coupons to get started, the savings will pay it off! Trust me!!
FYI - Always check the expiration date on these coupons...there is nothing worse than ordering them and realizing you forgot to look and the coupons expire that weekend!!

Coupon Insert Preview
I got asked about the coupons in today's paper. There was only 1 insert and the coupons were not great by any means. I'll be trading most of mine away, as is the case most of the time. I am posting the coupon insert schedule so that you can look to see whether or not you should get a paper on a certain Sunday. If there is only 1 insert that week, you could probably get by with 1 paper. If there are more than 1 insert, I would recommend getting 2 papers. The reasoning behind this is that, if for instance, you go to Publix or Winn Dixie and they have a 'buy one get one free' item, you CAN use a coupon for each item. Most places, the rule is one coupon per item, regardless of if the BOGO makes each 1/2 the price or one full price and one free.
Southern Savers is very good about posting exactly what coupons will be in the inserts, usually by Thursday or Friday. They are definitely variable by region. It at least gives you an idea of what coupons might be in it. Also, it may vary at any time. You can also go here.

Try FREE Kraft Products and get coupons too!
This is a good website for trying out products. Some of the products are new to Kraft and some have been out a while. They want you to spread the word about their products, so they send you a FREE coupon to try it out. They also give you one or two other high value ones to go with the offer. After about a month from when you accept the offer, they post a survey for you to take. They won't offer you more trials unless you finish the survey. Sign up now. I get about one freebie a month. Even if you've tried the product before, what could be better than getting what you normally buy for free or at a discount?

Junk Mailer....or not??
You know the junk mailer that you get usually every week? Smart Mailer or something like that. It has pizza coupons on the back usually and sometimes carpet cleaning in it. Well, don't throw it away without looking at it! There are usually high value Colgate coupons in it, which make for a great sale at CVS...maybe even free toothpaste. Today there was a Stouffer's meal one too. I got a great coupon a while back for the Dove Skin Vitalizer and another product. It made the Skin Vitalizer $1 money maker at CVS. Keep your eyes peeled!!
How do I store coupons??
Want a peek at how I keep my coupons organized? It isn't the greatest, but it works for me and was pretty cheap and easy. There are binders out there that a lot of people use. You could also use a divided recipe box...not as easy to tote or hold large quantities.

1. Find a binder on clearance at Target/CVS/Walmart, etc. I started out with a 1 in on clearance for .50 at Target, but had to quickly move to a 1.5 in on clearance $1 at CVS.

2. Go to Walmart or Target and get the baseball card page protectors (these are a tad pricey, 6.99, but you get a ton). At Target they are with the cards near the cash registers. At Walmart, I found them in one of the check out lanes, as the one I go to didn't have them in sports/crafts. While you're there, get some tabbed dividers.
3. Keep a calculator and some scissors handy! If you can fit one of those pencil pockets in, this would work out great, or make sure you have some in your purse! You never know when you'll find a booklet in the store that you'll want to cut something out of!
Always keep your coupon policies in the pocket, just in case you have to whip them out!!

There will only be one insert this weekend. Go here to see what coupons will be in the paper this Sunday. NOTE: Montgomery Advertiser is horrible for only having like 1/4 of what is listed.
An example of what Montgomery gets for coupons is here. I created this for Southern Savers to use on her blog.

Did you know....Target....
Offers coupons? They have store coupons which you can combine with regular coupons! Sometimes they are a pain in the rear about redeeming them. I will show you how you can get them on their website and print them. If you ever have trouble with them, I HIGHLY recommend you go to the GIFT REGISTRY KIOSK and go to the website from there and it is in the same spot. Sometimes you have to minimize some of the stuff to get to the very bottom.
TARGET - Go HERE. Scroll all the way down. One thing you will see is "NEW AT TARGET". You can scroll through the products and some of them will have printable coupons linked with them. The other way is at the very bottom of the page, there are 4 columns. One is "Target Stores". You will see Grocery Coupons there. Click through and select the ones you want to print. I recommend printing new ones whenever you see them. They usually have far out expirations. You can use these if Target carries the product locally.
Not to scare you, but you may need to know the Target Corporate Coupon Policy for difficult cashiers. I would email Target and ask for a copy of their coupon policy, print it out and put it in your coupon binder or purse.
Generate coupons here - Sometimes these will not scan, but can manually be entered. This site is good for getting ones that are still valid, but not on the Target site anymore.

Fresh Market
I don't know about you, but I prefer to buy organic and natural products. Fresh Market has the best tasting chicken and you can get it once a month at a REALLY low price. Even lower than Publix, etc. It always tastes fresh. They sell 2 breasts together and really, they are big enough to cut them in half and make 4 out of.
Here's some deals there this week.
Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts 2.99/lb (reg. 4.99/lb)
2 lbs Strawberries 4.98 (reg 7.99)
Earthbound Organic Salad 2/$5
Here are the rest of the deals.

Publix Deals 6/10
Here are some of my favorite deals at Publix this week. Keep an eye out in the Sunday papers. With Food World and Bruno's going out, they have been putting $5/$30 or more coupons in the actual pages of the paper, usually in the A section, or in Publix pamphlets. You can also use any Winn Dixie reward coupons you get....AND you can combine this with the Publix ones you find as long as your purchase is at least the total of the two coupons required purchase amount.

Walgreens Coupon

If you shop at Walgreens, or saw any deals this week that you were thinking about getting, this might help you out. They just posted a $5/$25 purchase coupon ONLY VALID Wednesday 6/10 and Thursday 6/11 HERE. Combine it with some sales, coupons and Register Reward (coupons for future purchases there with limitations - can be used at PUBLIX like a competitor coupon!) purchases and you might get some good deals. The DOWNSIDE to Walgreens coupons is that your total has be 25 AFTER coupons and sales. So, you will still be paying $20 for your purchase. Weekly sale matchups with coupons HERE.
Register Rewards are basically manufacturer coupons. You can use them on other purchases, but at Walgreens, your total number of coupons has to be the same or less than the number of items you are buying. So, you can't combine these with a manufacturer coupon, unless you buy 2 items. Rolling at Walgreens is more difficult, because you can't use a Register Reward on a product of the same manufacturer in order to get another Register Reward. I much prefer CVS because it is easier to roll.
If you are interested in learning more about the Walgreens side of things, go HERE.
Become A Mom Tester
Parenting Magazine is looking for moms to test baby products. You get sent the products and if they choose your review, you could possibly keep the item!

Stewardship and Budgeting
When we went from two incomes to one, we realized that we of course would have to decrease spending in certain areas. To do this, we created a household budget. It is a very important part of our finances and we strive to adhere to it as close as possible. It is not an easy task, that is for sure. We started and realized how much we were spending in certain areas and realized that it was not working. So, we adjusted it and cut back on those things. Now, things are much better. We have certain categories and limits for the individual things in those categories.
The one thing I've learned in doing all this is that the money we have is NOT ours. Everything we have and earn is God's money. He is the one who provides the job that provides the money. Yes, we have the knowledge to do that job, but who gave us that knowledge? GOD! If you think about everything that has happened in your life - timings of events, etc., I'm sure you can see a path of how things worked out, just in the perfect timing. It is hard to say that there isn't a plan for your life.
The most important thing for us to do is acknowledge that God provides for us. Once we do this, we should set aside our offering for Him. We are really only the managers of the finances He gives us. I encourage you, if you aren't, to give the firstfruits to God. The Bible does not say a set amount, but encourages us to give freely. 10 percent is only a minimum. Set it aside before you pay your bills or spend your money, that way it can't be spent on other things. This verse clearly states that when we give cheerfully, which is not always easy to do, especially when things are tight, that God will make his grace abound to you so that we have all we need. It is never His desire for us to be without. (This doesn't mean always having the latest and greatest) That is a choice we make by being good stewards of our money or not. If you do all these things, I believe that you will reap the benefits and blessings that God has for you...maybe not right away, but in His time.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."
So, in saying all this, I encourage you not to get caught up in the game of couponing. I have to admit, at first I did and still sometimes do. It is hard not to. In the beginning it is hard too, because you are trying to build a coupon pile or build your ECB for CVS. You find something that is fun and interesting. You want to find the best deals you can. Not only does this use up money, but it also uses up lots of time. I have to make a conscious effort to not be on my computer all day doing this. I have to remember that my focus is my relationship with God, my family, my house and then these other things. Stewardship is not just money, but time and other things as well.
I also encourage you to set up a limit on your spending. It is hard not to see all the good deals this week at CVS and think, 'Oh, I can get this, this and this, oh and this too!". You have to focus on what you will really use and what you really need. Now, that being said, I have at times, bought things for the ECB at CVS, that I don't use. I will be keeping a stock of these and donate them. I only buy them if I have coupons though! I will not pay a lot for things I don't/won't use. I will however, get them when I need them for another purpose and donate them happily. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I won't buy for charity! However, my charitable giving is done through tithing, so unless I have extra money that I feel God is leading me to give elsewhere, I try not to spend unnecessarily. I also buy things when they are cheap from a sale and I have coupons, to stock up to an extent. As long as I'm not paying a ton of money to do this, I think this is a wise use of my time and money.
Are you overloaded yet? I will leave it at this.

Earning free stuff...
I like to be able to get little freebies. Companies are more than willing to send you a sample and coupon, in order to get you to continue to buy their product. You can usually find them on Walmart.com, Sams.com, Kroger.com, etc. The blogs on the left are really good about updating for freebies.
Besides that, I like getting gift cards. We try not to eat out a lot and gift cards are a good way to lower the cost of dining out.
Swagbucks.com is used like a search engine. Instead of actually using Google, Swagbucks is sponsored by the Google and Ask.com search engines. However, you get 'bucks' when you search using this site. These 'bucks' can be redeemed for prizes and gift cards. This is one of my favorites, but it takes a little while to get enough accumulated to earn something. You can also trade in old game consoles or cell phones for credit. They pay the shipping. You can buy through their online links to earn bucks too, but I don't do this one. Use this link for more info.
Swagbucks
Mypoints.com is another favorite of mine. Basically, you sign up and fill out a profile and get points for that. Then, you sign up for emails (create a spam yahoo account or something for all these sites so your regular one isn't bombarded with junk) and when you receive these emails, you get 5 points for reading and clicking on the link at the bottom. You also get points for email surveys that they send. This site allows you to buy online through their links and earn points. (I prefer a cash back site for doing this, such as Ebates) I find that I get points accumulated pretty fast. 1500 points gets you say a $10 Chilis or Outback gift card. You can also get CVS, Walgreens and numerous others. **If you're interested in this one, let me know and I'll email you an invite, because I get referral points....which you can get too if you refer!
I forgot to mention you can get points for printing coupons through their website and redeeming these coupons!

One more hint....
Before I am off to bed....
I buy my health and beauty items, and some household items, mostly at drugstores now. Sometimes Target, if there is a really good sale or they are giving gift cards with purchase of X.
My absolute favorite place is CVS. You may be a Walgreens person, which is fine, but I find that I can get more for my money at CVS. Plus, they are super helpful.
I encourage you to sign up for an Extra Care card. With it, you get store $$ back when you purchase qualifying items. With this, you can in turn use it towards your next purchase, so you aren't paying as much money out of your own pocket.
You can order it online, but you'll have to wait to get it in the mail. The fastest way is to pop in a store and sign up. You get it instantly and can begin using it.
HERE
HOWEVER, if you take it home and go here, you can sign up and register the card online and get an email coupon such as $4/$20 purchase to print out and take with you the first time! Sometimes it doesn't work attaching the card to your account. You may have to call or email customer service if you have issues. Don't miss out on your coupon by letting it slide!
HERE
Also, some locations have a 'price scanner' that when you scan your card, will actually print out store coupons! The only ones I am aware of are CVS @ Zelda/Vaughn - was DEAD this past Sunday and Millbrook somewhere. They are supposedly red, but the one I saw was blue/grey.

My first hint for you!
The first hint I have is to invest in the Sunday paper!! That $1.50 will be paid back to you by using a few of the coupons that come in it! Now, that being said, there is usually about 1 Sunday a month where there are no coupon inserts, so you get a bit of a break. Your first mission is to start stocking up on coupons! Buy the paper when you can. Spare change makes for easy payment!
Also, visit this site and become a member. Read the basics and get started in the 'Coupon Trading' section. Here, you can tell people what coupons you are looking for. Once you have some that you don't want, you can trade them for the ones that YOU value. Also, you can join a train. This is where about 5 people send one envelope around with a pile of coupons in it. You pick what you need and put what you don't need in it. You do have to pay for the shipping which can be anywhere from 1 stamp to $2 postage. So, don't get carried away, because it could get expensive. I am a part of 4 I think, but the spread between them is good enough that I don't get bombarded.

Welcome!
Hi all! I am starting this blog, because numerous people have been asking me about my 'couponing' lately. I figured I can give you all my hints and tips here, as well as direct you to where I find my ideas and scenarios.
The title and web address signifies what is most important to me right now. God of course is my first priority. I strive (not always with success) to have a daily walk with him and make him the priority of my day and life. It is not always easy, as it requires a conscious effort and focus. I do not intend for this blog just to be about couponing and saving money, but things I am learning through my walk with Him, as well as things that are going on in my day to day family life. My family comes next. I recently became a SAHM (stay at home mom), after working in the nursing field. Don't get me wrong, I love being a nurse and am so thankful for the calling God put on my life at that time, but my husband and little boy are so much more important at this moment. I will one day go back to my profession, but I feel my Godly calling is to be at home with Ian and any more children we may have.
I believe that being a wife and mother is the hardest job out there. I believe however, that 'with God, all things are possible'. When you go from a dual income family, to a single income family, it makes a huge difference in your spending and thinking. You want to be able to spend money on the necessities, but you want to do it wisely and as inexpensively as possible. Since I have been at home, I have found several wonderful blogs started by other women and mothers. You can find these links to the right of this site. In reading these blogs, I have found amazing ways to spend very little money on things that we all use daily. These women have shown me the ins and outs of shopping and finding deals. No longer do I buy my household and personal items at Walmart or Target. I am not worried about the cost of buying brand name items (thanks to coupons and sales), but yet, am not afraid to try cheaper versions of items if they too are on sale. I actually never pay full price for health/beauty/household/baby items....anymore.
So, in the next few days, I will be working on this site and try to get some of the basics to my madness up.
